Westminster by Sonia Romero, 2022, Tile Mural, 22 x 10’ (2 sections)

Westminster depicts members of the city’s community throughout history. The figures were inspired by community submissions of family photos from different eras. The mural includes a depiction of Sylvia Mendez, the who was at the center of the landmark case, Westminster vs Mendez which fought against segregated education. The mural strives to honor the multi-cultural nature of the city.
